Suggestion 1:
A series of paralell lines. one line above another, but shorter and thinner. The next line above THAT one is shorter and thinner. And so on to the next lines up. These lines do not need to represent ANYTHING specific, but the illusion is that these lines exist in a space leading away from the viewer.
